What are the best things about studying in the UK at UEA?

In my experience the best things about studying at UEA are the support you receive and UEA's location. Whenever I've struggled to understand my coursework or an assignment, I know I can contact the Learning Enhancement Team and they will help me with my workload.

Norfolk is a beautiful county and it feels as if the countryside is on UEA’s doorstep thanks to the UEA Broad. I used to wake up in the mornings before campus and watch the rabbits playing right outside my window. It just felt like home to me. Norwich is great too, it’s an affordable place to live and had great shops and restaurants! 😊

The best thing about studying at UEA is the exstensive support given by our wellbeing team, career central, and our teachers. There are also lots of opportunities to make friends and sports clubs to join too.

Norwich has a wonderful city centre, with lots of independent shops. Beautiful parks, coffee shops, cinemas, bowling centres and much more. We also have a direct bus route from campus to the city centre, and to the railway centre.

The best thing about UEA is all the facilities they offer and also all the courses. There are so many societies to join and ways to meet people. I love all the possibilities, especially being able to do a year abroad. I was able to learn languages as part of my degree which was also great. Norwich is also very beautiful and very safe, has a homely feel about it!

The lecturers are approachable and genuinely care about helping you succeed, which makes a big difference when you’re tackling challenging material. The campus itself is stunning, surrounded by nature, yet it has all the facilities you need – from modern labs to great study spaces. UEA also prioritises practical learning and career development, with opportunities for placements and real-world experience. Norwich is an affordable, friendly city with a vibrant student life, making it a perfect place to focus on your studies and enjoy uni life.
